What got you started working in your current line of profession?

Being in the hotel line for over 5 years, I wanted a paradigm shift and to expand my horizon. I was still passionate about customer service but wanted to explore a different environment. While job-hunting, I stumbled across what seems like a growing industry, the serviced office. I wanted a better work-life balance and still enjoy what I do. At that time, there was a job opportunity for a Customer Service Manager in Arcc Spaces, it seemed to fit what I was looking for. So, I went for the interview and got hired.

Tell us something surprising about you.

Last year during MCO, I joined a small, non-profitable community in my neighborhood that oversees a sanctuary for stray dogs. Since then, once every weekend, I would bring 1 big tray of chicken and rice to feed approx. 20 dogs from 3 different locations. Rain or shine, the feeding must go on. It’s not a task done only at convenience but rather, a huge responsibility.

Doing this has brought so much joy and fulfillment to me. Also, I adopted a dog early this April. His name is Dimple, a 4-year-old who was initially brought in to the vet for euthanization due to his severe skin condition. But thankfully, with much medical care and unconditional love, he is now a healthy, active dog!

My dream is to open a dog shelter and advocate for their rights as I feel Malaysian stray dogs deserve better

What are your favourite pastimes off work?

I love reading, one of my favorite books is “The Last Lecture – Randy Pausch”. I enjoy watching no-brainer, romantic, cliché chick flicks on Netflix too. Hehe!

Is there a quote in life that greatly impacts you?

We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand – Randy Pausch.

Sometimes when I am faced with inevitable situations, I remind myself that I can always work my way around things. I cannot control how fortunate I am, but I can use all the resources at my disposal to the best of my ability. With a little luck and skills in life, I believe I can overcome hurdles.

What is your favourite part of your job in Arcc Spaces?

The new company restructure has certainly given me more ownership towards my centre. I am more focused and empowered to ensure that my ‘house’ is well-maintained, my ‘guests’ are happy, and continue extending their ‘stay’ with us.

Apart from that, a positive working environment is of utmost importance and I am truly glad that I have amazing colleagues who are enthusiastic team players helping each other succeed and meet the company’s goal.
