In the latest episode of the Being, Human fireside chat in Singapore, Arcc Spaces and the Deloitte Center for the Edge collaborates to shed light on the human side of artificial intelligence and its impact on our collective future.
Award-winning author and human connection specialist Simone Heng sat down with Su-Yen Wong, Chairperson of the Singapore Institute of Directors, in a fireside chat to discuss the science that is human connectedness.
How do we build real human connections?
Despite the advent of new technology that enables easier ways to connect, people are left feeling more disconnected, something that is further fueled by the social hurdles caused by the pandemic.
In the latest “Being, Human” fireside chat powered by Arcc Spaces, we welcomed Simone Heng to our centre at One Marina Boulevard, Singapore, where she lent her insights into what it means to build genuine human connectivity.
An award-winning author and human connection specialist, Simone has taken this branch of knowledge and shared it with thousands of people who are eager to connect.
To date, she has been invited to speak by notable clients in the likes of the United Nations, Meta, Google, Lucasfilm, and Adobe.
At the event, Simone also spoke about her personal experiences with disconnection and the inspiration behind her best-selling debut book, “Secret Pandemic: The Search for Connection in a Lonely World”.
The session was moderated by the Chairperson of the Singapore Institute of Directors Su-Yen Wong.
An adjunct professor of global leadership and a professional speaker in her own right, Su-Yen champions topics that help her audience navigate the intersection of technology, strategy, and people in areas that include the future of work, reinvention, diversity, and governance.
Arcc Spaces Head of Strategic Partnerships Nim Sivakumaran said the “Being, Human” series is very much focused on adding wholesome values to members and attendees, and Simone’s topic was one that struck a chord with Arcc’s audience.
“Our human-led design approach was what inspired our “Being, Human” series, and Simone’s touch on human connection ties back to our holistic approach to well-being for the community at Arcc Spaces be it social, business, mental, physical and financial,” he said.
“Being, Human” is a monthly fireside chat by Arcc Spaces that features leading entrepreneurs and changemakers in the region.
